Liverpool star Jordan Henderson is set to sign a new contract with the Merseyside club, Daily Star reports.
Amid news surrounding Steven Gerrard and his future at Liverpool, Henderson looks close to extending his current contract which expires in the summer of 2016.
The 24-year-old has been a consistent performer for Brendan Rodgers over the last two years, resulting in the club offering new terms that will keep him at Anfield till 2019.
The Englishman stated that he isn’t worried about his contract, as he enjoys playing for Liverpool and revealed he is close to extending his current deal.
“I’m just concentrating on playing football,” he said. “I’m not worried about that.
“I’m enjoying my football. I love this club and I want to be here for many years so that shouldn’t be an issue.
“I’ll let my agent sort that out. It’s nothing to do with me.”
Liverpool purchased Henderson from Sunderland for £20million back in 2011, and has gone on to make 149 appearances for the Reds.
