Ikorodu kidnapped school girls rescued, kinappers apprehended


Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja , Lagos said they have arrested three more suspects over the recent kidnap of three female Senior Secondary School students of the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, in Ikorodu Lagos state.

 Babington schoolgirls returning to school after their abduction Preliminary investigation showed that the suspects were the cooks during the girls six days stay in their den.

 The weekend arrest brought the number of arrested suspects over the abduction saga to four. A police source who pleaded anonymity said; “Three more suspects were arrested at the weekend in different hotels in Lagos. We tracked them through the network providers and they have confessed to being the ones cooking for the girls and ensuring that they did not escaped.

They told us that they fed the girls with noodles. The suspects also informed us that they had attempted to kidnap the girls twice in the past but succeeded in their third attempt.

” The police initially arrested one of the suspected gang members and two accomplices behind the kidnap of the students; Timilehin Olosa, Tofunmi Popoolaniyan and Deborah Akinayo. Suspected kidnapper of three Lagos school girls, Emmanuel Arigidi (left) with two other conspirators paraded, yesterday in Lagos. But police sources revealed that three others who allegedly partook in the crime were arrested weekend in different hotels in the state.

The police arrested three suspects, Emmanuel Arigidi , James Henry , and Akanju Oluwasegun, when the girls were rescued on March 3, 2016. The prime suspect, Arigidi revealed that an eleven-man gang perpetrated the act . Efforts to get the comment of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni was not successful as the he did not reply a text message sent to his mobile telephone.
