SAD: Boy buried alive by local sand truck

A 6-year-old boy was ‪ buried ‬alive by a sand truck in Xiamen city, Fujian Province, according to a local news website, taihainet.com.The boy was found dead when the ‪ rescuers ‬dug him out, about 40 minutes later.
In late afternoon on Friday, the ‪ boy‬was playing with his younger sister and a friend at a local construction site when a ‪sandtruck ‬approached them.
The truck parked and unloaded the entire sand payload without noticing the three children.
The other two ‪ children ‬ran away immediately, but the boy was not able to escape the tragedy.
The boy’s father immediately rushed there after being informed of the incident, according to the media report.

“I tried digging out with my free hands, but one man’s strength is too little… so I have to call the police for help,” the man in grief told the local media.

Once the police received the call, the local fire brigade immediately sent 14 soldiers and two machines to the scene to help digging.

Residents nearby also came to help.

Spades were used together with excavators and bulldozers, but the rescue work had to go painfully slow to use caution not to hurt the child that could have still been alive.

Sadly, nearly one hour passed before the boy’s body was found. He did not survive this tragic accident.
